This diploma is an integration between the disciplines of Counseling , Psychology, and Islamic Studies. The offer of this diploma is based on the basic field of guidance counseling which is equipped with religious knowledge because issues related to mental health and social problems of in today’s society require counselors who can help individuals holistically. Teaching and learning methods are hybrid (a combination of online and face-to-face learning), field studies and industrial training. The study period of this program is 2 ½ years.

This Diploma in Islamic Counseling Program (DKI) offers courses that are relevant to the current needs in accordance with the latest level of study. Among the courses offered are as below:

c. Theory of Counseling and Psychotherapy
d. Psychology of Human Development
e. Social Psychology
f. Abnormal Psychology
g. Basic Family System
h. Individual and Group Guidance
i. Industrial and Organizational Psychology

This program aims to produce graduates who:

  • Know the basic knowledge in the field of Islamic counseling and psychology.
  • Implement the Islamic principles and counseling in dealing with situations, problems and issues.
  • Apply counseling techniques and skills and show a responsible attitude in doing so.
  • Use appropriate interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with others.
  • Use various information and digital applications in managing counseling data.
  • Practice teamwork and show awareness of related social responsibilities.
  • Use personal and entrepreneurial skills for lifelong learning and career development.
  • Show commitment to Islamic values ​​and teachings in offering helpful services.
    • Having a the Malaysian Certificate of Education or Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with at least honors in 3 subjects; OR
    • Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in 3 subjects: OR
    • Pass O-Level with at least Grade C in 3 subjects; OR Pass the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3 in the appropriate field subject to the approval of the Senate / Academic Board. Note: HPT needs to conduct screening and specific guidance related to program areas for students; OR
    • Pass a Community College Certificate equivalent to Level 3 Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) in a related field; AND Have SPM with at least honors in 1 subject; and through a strengthening program (if necessary); or Pass a Certificate (MQF Level 3) in a related field with at least a CGPA of 2.00, OR
    • Pass the Malaysian Higher Education Certificate (STPM) with at least Grade C (NGMP 2.0) in 1 subject, OR
    • Passed the Malaysian Higher Religious Certificate (STAM) (parigkat maqbul OR Other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Malaysian Government. A recognized certificate in Islamic Studies or its equivalent.
